I must have been very lucky, then, Chris as the company I buy my pet food from, VetUK, always use DPD and I have been having deliveries by them for several years, without the slightest hitch!
I've also changed the delivery date (one of their options) and that too has gone well.
I'm hoping this isn't the beginning of a change?

Hello, Elle!
Doggie will be fine, I'm sure!
I just walked around the 'hood.
Only saw one Christmas tree.
So you are a happy DPD customer, too!
I like the time slot idea. Makes things easier.
I am on the point of ordering a book called "The Riddle of Birdhurst Rise". You will know that Birdhurst Rise is in Croydon, and this is the story of several poisonings that took place there, in the 1920's. It is not a new book but gets good reviews.
Not looked at my crossword yet. Usually do it after "tea"!
Hope your " dinner" is nice and you both have a splendid time!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, strangely enough, it just so happens that I DO know that Birdhurst Rise is in Croydon!
I not only know where it is but have actually visited the street! My parents went to look at a property there when they first moved to London in order to live near us ! (Incidentally, they didn't buy it! Perhaps as well!!!)
This was about thirty years ago now !
But what an incredible coincidence! I 'm absolutely gobsmacked!
I hope you enjoy your book! I wonder if it could be the same house......?
Well, I must away and get changed..........we are going out about 6.30 pm.
Thank you, yes, I'm sure we will enjoy the meal! The food there is always delicious.
Talk later.......

Hello, Elle!
Goodness, that's a coincidence!
If you Google "Croydon Poisonings" there are a few articles on it. I think South Park Hill Road was mentioned, too.
I think the book will be good.
Done my crossword. Quite tricky.
Never knew there was a word "ruly". Opposite of " unruly".
Always learning!
Yes, put your posh jeans on and off you pop!

I'm away for a couple of days now - the fern expert wants to recce a couple of walks she is leading next year in the Yorkshire Moors, so we're having a night at Whitby. Be in touch again at the weekend.

Hi, Rusty!
We had a lovely time!
Great food, and the restaurant was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas. Wonderful atmosphere!
Now........you are definitely not going to believe this.........!
Our granddaughter and her mother, until only very recently, lived in South Park Hill Road!
It runs almost parallel to Birdhurst Rise.
Spooky or what ?!
I never knew that there was such a word as 'ruly' either !
