Good morning, Elle!
It's a bit dreich here this morning.
Maybe it will brighten later.
How is your dog today?
There were quite a few fireworks going off here, yestreen.
The travellers are in a boat heading to Marco Polo Airport to come home.
And the Norn Iron folks are heading for their boat fairly soon.
I had a look at Red Button programme to see will they show the New York Marathon but they are not.
It is a Stereophonics concert they have on.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful morning here!
Bright blue sky, and sunshine!
No more strong winds......just a very gentle breeze.....
It was great out walking!
My dog is fine today, thank you.
Once the "bangers" stop going off, she is okay.....
And I think my playing a variety of CDs last night helped.....
She was very interested in my dancing to Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue"!
And came out from cowering under the computer to see what was going on.......!
I hope your son and his wife have managed to fit in a lot of sight-seeing.......perhaps they will want to go there again?
Your NI friends are going home early in the day?
Thanks for the info on the NY Marathon....
I guess it was just too much to hope that the BBC would show it.

Hello, Elle!
The NI folks have a long drive to Cairnryan to catch their boat.
Longer if they hit bad weather.
Apart from the leaning tower at Burano and the portable pavements my son has not mentioned any sights they've seen.
A pity you won't see the NY Marathon.
The weather forecast is good for New York, too.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah well, I am becoming used to the limitations on viewing any of the Athletics events!
You can tell me who wins the NY Marathon!
I meant to ask you if you had tried the Everyman crossword this week?
I thought there were some cleverly constructed clues, but also some fairly easy ones
I finished the puzzle all too soon, though.....
I especially liked 4d, 9d and 21a, if you are taking a look at it.

Hello, Elle!
No puzzles for me on Sundays.
Last week was a one-off.
Plane just landed at Edinburgh.
It is a few minutes early.
It will be a wet drive North!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Do you still have rain?
We have been very lucky today ...it is good to see the sun for a change!
How far is Dundee from Edinburgh....sixty, maybe seventy, miles?
Your son and daughter-in -law should be home by now?
It will be good to have them back.
Perhaps, if they are not too travel weary, they will pop in to tell you all about their trip.
How did the NY Marathon go?
Any big names competing?

Hello, Elle!
It is still a bit wet here!
Edinburgh Airport is about 60 miles from here.
It's a good road all the way.
They are home now.
They got held up with roadworks near Perth.
They won't come to see me.
Their usual routine is to visit my daughter-in-law's folks most Sunday tea-times.
A lady called "something" Jepkosgei won the women's marathon by quite a way, from, I think, Mary Keitany.
The men's race was won by Geoffrey Kamworor.
And the first person to greet him was Eliud Kipchoge!
But the story of the race was, an unknown runner came third!
I think he is an Ethiopian who lives in New York, but nobody had ever heard of him!
Fairy tale stuff!
Was great to see!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm glad to hear that the travellers are safely home!
I don't know the athlete, Ms Jepkosgei, who won the Women's Marathon?
But she must certainly be good, if she beat Mary Keitany so easily.
Hasn't Mary Keitany won the NY Marathon four times?
I cannot place Geoffrey Kamworor visually, but I think he is Eliud Kipchoge's training partner?
Yes, good to see new faces on the block! So who then was the previously unknown runner who came third?
The fireworks have started up again!
They are not (yet) as noisy as last night though.
The dog is reasonably calm, although she has followed me here to the computer, and is lying by my feet.
I may have to sing and dance again.....!
My cousin has texted to say she will be late in phoning tonight …
I wonder what she is up to?!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the travellers are home.
My son thought Venice was very nice and would be very busy in the summer.
Joyciline Jepkosgei is a young runner, eleven years younger than Mary Keitany.
I know Keitany is a multiple winner at New York but do not know how many she has won.
The non-elite runner who came third in the men's race, was Girma Bekele Gebre.
I have heard several fireworks, so far!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh,......I had not realised that the winner who took third place was a non -elite runner!
I had just thought that he was lesser known than most of the "famous" names!
So very well done, especially, to him, then!
And obviously his is a name to look out for in the future!
I wish I had been able to watch the race.......perhaps there might be extracts on YouTube?
I shall check later.
I am reading my book at present.......
