Ah, I am glad that Miss L-B is pleased with her bike's performance.
Scat"/"scatter" are new terms for me......
I did look up "scatter" in Chambers...to no avail .....but did not look up "scat", as I did not know then that such a word existed!
I have now looked it up, though, and Chambers tells that "scat" is
"the use of nonsense syllables and other wordless effects in singing"
I think Ella Fitzgerald had a great voice...and I do like some jazz...but definitely not "scat", if your clip is anything to go by?
I am glad that I now know what "scat" is....but it did nothing for me at all!
Yes, I liked today's puzzle, but it was a bit harder than the usual Saturday one, did you not think?
I don't know "coffeemate", Rusty?
Is it something that you add to coffee... a milk or creamer?
I don't add either of those to my coffee......I drink it black!

Just in, I was off for a walk.
Miss L-B is dead chuffed with her bike, now!
I knew "scat" music, but I did not make the link for a wee while.
A very good clue, for me.
Ella had a fine voice, but I can't be doing with jazz, and certainly can't be doing with scat!
I thought it was the best Saturday puzzle in a long time, Elle.
Coffeemate is a product that can be added to coffee instead of milk.
I may get some on Monday.
It is for my grandson.
I bought him a kettle and a large jar of coffee today.
I am putting some stuff together for him, for the new house.
There will be folk in and out doing work before he moves in, and I'm sure they'd like a coffee and a biscuit while they are working.
Milk would not keep, so I am pondering Coffeemate.
I have even included one of my precious tea spoons!

That is very nice of you to collect items for your grandson for his new house.
You were looking at washing -machines for him........did you find a suitable one?
I suppose it is too early, though, to buy it yet, if work needs to be done within the house?
Storage might be a problem?
(It is very generous of you to bequeath him one of your precious teaspoons!)
A tin would be a good idea for the biscuits, so that they do not go soft.
Are you going to watch / record BGT?

It is just an idea of mine to put some stuff together for him and the workers.
It is a cheap kettle just, and he can get rid of it when his new kitchen is in.
And coffee, tea, biscuits and crisps, etc.
Irish crisps!
He does not know yet, until Tuesday when he is coming here.
Now, the washing machine! There lies a tale!
He texted to me a few days ago to tell me that the new kitchen is coming with fitted appliances including a washing machine, so could I give him money instead!
I thought it was comical!
So that's where we are now.
ASDA biscuits will keep fine.
I am recording BGT.
I'll watch it tomorrow before the cycling.
The Amstel Gold race is tomorrow, in Holland.

I was thinking that once the biscuit packets were opened, a tin would keep them fresh (and dust free) ?
What are 'Irish' crisps as opposed to any other?
I've never heard of a kitchen coming with a washing machine?
That sounds a very good offer.......
I have been offered a cooker on two occasions, when I have refitted my kitchen....
But nothing else as a "freebie" in the way of modern appliances.
Obviously the world has moved on!
I had to smile when you said your grandson has asked for the money instead... well, it probably sounds logical to him!

I fold over the top of the biscuit packet and that keeps them fresh.
What kind of tin do you mean?
The Irish crisps are Tayto crisps, best crisps on the planet!
Tayto were the first to add flavouring to crisps, too.
I have a clothes washing machine in my kitchen.
So do lots of folk I know.
I know the lad who is installing the kitchen, but I do not know where the units etc are coming from, or what all is involved.
My own kitchen was put in by my sons and a sparkie.
I stood back and let them get on with it, and fed and watered them!
I told my son (my grandson's Dad) about being asked for money instead of a clothes washing machine, and we had a great laugh about it!
My grandson is an accountant, too!

A biscuit tin? Don't you have biscuit tins in which to keep your biscuits?
They are usually decorative, colourful airtight tins specially designed for the purpose.
Or maybe you eat the bikkies all so quickly, that they don't have time to go "soft"!
I'm not very fond of biscuits...except for the occasional shortie or gingerbread.
Now I think we are at cross purposes over the clothes washing machine!
I simply meant that I had never been offered one free with a new kitchen!
(I had to buy one for myself!)
Your grandson obviously knows how to look after his money........
It must be something to do with his being an accountant!
