Hi, Rusty!
I am finished with my "crosswording" for today!
The ST Cryptic was a good one.......
And I did try out the Everyman in the end!
There were a few rather 'loose' clues, and I thought that one clue using a medical reference had the wrong part of speech, but then I might be (and usually am!) often wrong.
Of course, these days it appears that it would depend on which dictionary one consults....I can see that soon we shall need about seven dictionaries to hand in order to find a "correct" answer.
But overall, although a tad on the easy side, I found today's Everyman a slight improvement on the last few offerings.
So maybe the powers- that -be- have been taking note of recent adverse comments!
Here's hoping!
It is now time for a walk....... the sun is waving his hat!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Lovely day here, too!
If you are not too sure of an answer or clue, pop it on here.
Many first class solvers on here, as you know!
I am well off for dictionaries!
Chambers, Collins, Bradford's, and Brewer's!
Dictionaries aplenty, I'd say!
I like Collins online dictionary. I have it in "bookmarks".
I have downloaded the Chambers Dictionary app to my 'phone and tablet, several years ago, and it is excellent, but I rarely use it.
I would expect the Everyman crossword editor to pay heed to his puzzlers.
He would not want to lose them, or readers of the newspaper to stop buying it and move to another paper.

Hi, Rusty!
We have had a most enjoyable walk.
We went to the Country Park, as we deemed it would be quieter.
Plenty of dogs...but only a few cyclists..... and thankfully, no skateboards , skates or scooters, as there are no "proper" paths!
It was quite muddy still, but we were well equipped for that.
And the dog never minds getting dirty!
Ah, it wasn't that I was unsure of my answers, Rusty.....just that I thought a few of the clues a bit dicey!
But that seems to be par for the Everyman course at the moment.
Still, it was not as bad as last week's offering.
And now I shall read my book......until I have to think about dinner.....
Has all the skiing finished now?

Hello, Elle!
I do not think you are alone in your opinion of the latest Everyman puzzles!
Look upon them as a new challenge!
Mind you, I have noticed from time to time, that some folk moan about clues/setters and it is plain they do not fully grasp the clue, and are criticising unfairly.
In the main, I think the setters do a marvellous job of keeping us entertained!
It is Alpine skiing that I follow, and that is the World Champs over now.
I enjoyed it!

Hi, Rusty!
I think it is difficult to see as a challenge, a clue that is loosely termed, or one that uses an incorrect part of speech.
However, having said that, it was perfectly possible today to see where the clues were going.......
And possibly had I (and others) not been used to such a previously high standard of clever parsing and perfect dovetailing from the previous setter, I might have been more easily satisfied.
I suppose we should give the new compiler time...he / she may improve......
It looks as though the complaints might well continue until such a happening.....
I am very hungry... I don't recall having any lunch......

Hello, Elle!
One thing about the Everyman, the puzzle has increased traffic on the forum which will please Norah and Ash!
Hopefully the new setter will get in the swing of things fairly quickly, but there are many tried and trusted setters out there, Elle, if need be.
Yes, maybe time for your tea, or dinner, as you call it!
Up here it's tea!

Hello, Pigale!
Not heard from you for a couple of days.
I hope you are keeping fine and doing your gentle walks to the village.
At least we have been blessed with very nice weather, and I hope that continues!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm having trouble posting again...
Captcha won't stop circling....and won't accept my tick.
It is taking me ages to communicate!
I had this trouble yesterday...no pictures to look at, though, thank goodness.
I feel better now that I have eaten …...tea, dinner, whatever, what's in a name?
It is all food!
How is Miss O feeling?
Have you heard from her?
Did she make it to her gran's for tea?
It is nearly time to talk to my cousin...now I wonder whose turn it is to ring.....?

Hello, Elle!
Is this on your desktop machine you are having trouble?
Let Norah know?
I have not heard from Miss O since mid-afternoon.
I'll text her soon to see how she is.
I think it is your cousin's turn, Elle?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, on my desk top computer ...that is the only means of internet communication that I have.
This "delay" only started yesterday... so I thought it might just be a blip and would stop soon.
In a way it is worse than having to count trams / cars / telephone wires / and shop fronts, as last night it took nearly forty minutes to stop circling and 'agreed' to let me send my message .
Yes, I shall tell Norah if it continues to happen.
You were right...it was my cousin's turn!
All are well up there!
