Elle, where are you? you seem to have disappeared from this talk
about smoothies! Do YOU like them?

Went to my 'new' GP only to discover that it is only a telemedicine set-up!
I got what I needed from them, except for the morphine which they
cannot prescribe via Internet! So I waited for another Doctor in this practice who does not take anymore patients - Luckily he knows me - used to be my father's GP - and he kindly gave me my prescription for morphine in between two of his patients.

However, I do not feel that I have seen a doctor as such!
All they physically did was take my blood pressure! The system helped me out this time, but does not resolve my problem of finding
another 'real' GP. There are some available but some 20/30 odd
kms away and I do not drive! This set -up will serve me as a
temporary measure, but oh! do I wish my old GP had not retired!
He was in centre of village and it was so easy to see him and then
go on to the pharmacist for the medicine!

Hello, Pigale!
Ah yes, I am here!
I'm standing by wondering whether to contact the Guinness Book of Records about just how long one can discuss a smoothie........
It is good to hear from you!
I was wondering how you had gone on seeing your new GP.
I do not understand what you mean by the " telemedicine" situation?
Was there not a "real person" to speak to?
Explain further, please!
I hope you are not feeling too tired by the trip there and back to the surgery?

hello, Malone!
I have not looked at the yogurt pot ingredients.
A wee bit of sugar would be fine, I think.

That's about eight posts now about smoothies, Rusty - we'll need to be careful! I'm sure any wee bit of sugar is totally fine, I think I just remembered seeing articles about some yoghurts, aimed at children, being quite unhealthy.

Hello Elle!

Good to see you are still around! I was just wondering .............!!!
I agree that 'smoothies" seem to go on and on!

Yes, I am somewhat tired by the trip, but between my friend on
one side and my walking stick on the other, I coped even on the
snow-covered pavements! -Yes, we did have more snow at lunch
time!

What I mean by 'tele-medicine' is that I walked into a room where
a nurse welcomed me, took my BP and then introduced me to a
doctor on computer monitor - ie it is a little like Skype, although
more complicated of course, and the doctor ask questions or you
can tell you what you need to tell him. It is basically set up only
to renew prescriptions! I suppose he (doctor) could give advice on
a particular problem, or suggest such and such a tablet, but he
does not physically have anything to do with you - he is located
'somewhere', but where, I don't even know! it could be Paris
or Lyon or even Nice! it is all done by Internet. He types his
prescription, or a copy of your old one, sends it to the Nurse's
computer who then prints it! and that is it!

Except that this system cannot deal with drug-type medicine, such
as morphine, which I so badly need at the moment.
Hence my waiting to see the 'real life' GP who also works in that
building, and he helped out with that part of my problem.

Strange no? I mean it is useful in a way, until such time as I have
a 'real' GP again! At least, the monthly prescriptions can be
renewed! But I certainly did not feel that I had been to see my
Doctor!
You know what I mean now?

Hi, Rusty!
So now that Serena is out of the competition, how are we doing with the women's singles?
Petra Kvitova is to play Danielle Collins, and Karolina Pliskova plays Naomi Osaka, in the Semi Finals, tomorrow.
I won't bet on it.......but I 'm thinking a Final between Petra and Karolina?
What do you think?
Do you have strong inclinations either way?
It is continuing to be icy cold here...and beginning to freeze over outsid.... but, hey, still no snow!
What is it like with you?

Hello, Pigale!
My goodness, it sounds awful!
I'm surprised you needed to walk there, I would have expected you to arrive in your "Time Machine"!
I think the sooner you find a person -person GP the better!
Thank you for explaining!
Take it easy for the rest of the evening!

Hello, Elle,
I've just dragged myself away from making very healthy, tasty, smoothies.
I hope for Danielle to progress, but it will be tough.
I have had a wee bet on young Stefanos to beat Rafa!
And a wee bet on Rickie Fowler to be in the first eight at the golf in California.
Still cold here.
Now, back to my smoothies!

Hi, Rusty!
My goldfish is complaining that you are doing him out of a place (for his longevity) in the Guinness Book of Records, with all this seemingly everlasting talk of smoothies.......!
But, to be serious, now ..... I expect they are probably very good for you!
Uhmm, you are taking championship of Stefanos much to heart!
I will applaud him should he win, but my loyalty lies with Rafa!
You will be busy , keeping an eye on both the tennis and the golf!

Hello, Elle!
Kale smoothies are important for me, for medicinal purposes.
I like young Stefanos after seeing him the other day.
But, Rafa is the strong favourite.
The match is on tomorrow morning some time.
Paddy P has Novak favourite to win the title.
The golf is on in the evenings, so that's fine.
It comes from Torrey Pines in California.
It will be on when my son visits.
He likes the golf, too.

We grow kale. I quite like the taste, but if you were designing a vegetable to cool down as quickly as possible, I think it would look rather like kale! It seems that I always eat it cold....
