I'd like ideally to see a Novak v Rafa Final, but I don't know what are the chances of that happening?
Young Stefanos seems to be a serious threat in general....
It remains to be seen whether he will be a threat to Rafa , tomorrow!
I do not know anything about Lucas Pouille - other than he is French.
He will be Novak 's opponent in the Semis.
I did not know that Novak was tipped to win the tournament?
It is good that the golf does not coincide with the tennis....
And you and your son will enjoy watching the golf together , when he visits you tomorrow.

There is an excellent chance of a Rafa v Novak final.
If it is, I am in Novak's corner!
Pouille is completely new to me.
I heard Pat Cash and Annabelle Croft praising him, but I never saw him play.
Novak is favourite with the bookies to win the title.
My son likes Rickie Fowler too, so he will enjoy the golf.
Any word for your husband from the bookseller?

It is a dull and somewhat miserable day here - and very cold and frosty.
The ground is not so treacherous as yesterday though.
Have you been out for your paper today?
Google tells me that Petra won her match against Danielle Collins , but that Karolina Pliskova lost out to Naomi Osaka.
So far, in the Men's tennis, Rafa has taken the first two sets.....and is doing very nicely in the third!
Yes, my husband heard back from the Seller yesterday.
He has been asked to take photographs of the book, the ISBN number and the Invoice and send these back to the company.
Surely this is a big "ask" and putting the purchaser to a lot of trouble, when the fault lies very obviously with the Seller?
And another problem is that the email says "Do not reply to this email"!
And indeed, one cannot!
Were it not so expensive an item, I would just give up!

I watched bits of Rafa's match while doing my puzzle.
I think the bookseller is asking too much.
Do you have a means of contacting them other than email?
Surely to goodness they have a copy of their own invoice?
Are they deliberately being awkward to discourage you from seeking your husband's money back?
I think you should ask Amazon to sort this out.
It was their platform the seller used to sell this book.
Your husband should not have this hassle, nor should he be out of pocket, for someone else's fault.
I hope it is resolved successfully.

Update, Elle,
Amazon have an "Amazon A to Z Guarantee Refund" that may be worth exploring.
I have not used it, but it is there to refund buyers if Amazon think they should refunded.

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you.
I have been all this while sorting out the situation with the book seller - Paper Cavalier UK (I shall name and shame!)
It proved impossible for me to contact them, as the email from them did not accept replies!
So I have taken your good advice and got in touch with Amazon itself.
It took some time to find a contact number for Amazon UK Customer Services, but once I had found it and rung it........all went smoothly.
I explained the circumstances to a very nice young man, who was extremely helpful,
He agreed that we shouldn't be put to all that palaver, when the fault lay with the seller, and he emailed the selling company telling them just that!
He has told them either to replace the book with the correct volume, or else provide us with the means to return it.
So I am now awaiting hearing from Paper Cavalier..........

Well that sounds encouraging from your "very nice young man" at Amazon!
He seems to be on the ball, anyway.
And he has done the right thing telling Paper Cavalier (I have not heard of them) to get their act together.
Hopefully they will get in touch with you/your husband promptly with an acceptable solution to the problem they have created.
I have always found Amazon to be helpful.

I think Paper Cavalier are a rare book dealer....and provider also of textbooks of various disciplines ?
But I had never heard of them, prior to this transaction.
Now, did you enjoy the Rafa v. Stefanos match?
I managed (!) to find the highlights of the match on YouTube and have just watched them.
It was an excellent match, wasn't it?.....some great play from Stefanos, even though Rafa outplayed him in the end.
I also saw Rafa being interviewed by John McEnroe.
Raining here...but at least it isn't snowing!

My goodness , the reviews of Paper Cavalier are dreadful, aren't they?
It is a pity that my husband didn't investigate the company before ordering his book.
I never buy anything online without checking the existence of the company (as far as one can ) and reading some of the reviews!
But then I have a naturally mistrusting nature!
We are waiting now to hear further from them.
Funnily enough, as far as I can ascertain, the UK branch is situated in South -east London!
So if push comes to shove , I could always go around and bang on the door!
