Hello Elle
I had no idea of any of the earthquakes until a friend in Dorset messaged me today asking if I was affected. But after googling I found there had been several near Dorking.
When I was in Tokyo, there was a minor earthquake which I only heard about on my return to the UK. At the time of the quake, my group and I were on a very shaky bus journey so any possible tremors we would have thought was the bus !
I like to live dangerously !

Jazzgirl, I agree with you about Nadal. I find it quite uncomfortable (and infuriating) watching him and all his tics. I feel much the same about Johanna Konta's robotic-looking serve - I've always felt there should come a point where the serving action is instinctive.

Don't get me started ! ;)
Nadal says the movements he makes are not superstitious but help him concentrate...... well it makes me turn off .
I did not realize he has 19 different rituals in total !
(see youtube if you dare )
While I am here, a warning to watch out for fake
£10 notes in circulation. See the Bank of England video for how to make sure the notes you have are genuine.

Thanks, Jazzgirl. I've previously seen the stuff about Rafa positioning bottles a certain way, changing ends a certain way... but it's all the nonsense accompanying his serve that infuriates me the most. I suppose Rafa would say it works for him, so what difference does it make to us? My retort would be that it interferes with my enjoyment as a spectator!

Thanks for the banknotes warning. Fortunately I'm in Scotland and almost all our notes are our own.

Hi, Rusty!
Update!
I finally ceased watching tennis...and I have been browsing the WWA.....
It is fantastic!
I saw Inishowen that you mentioned earlier.
I keep getting diverted, as I start to "wander" downwards , by some small item that catches my interest........and I stop to explore!
My daughter and her family are hoping at some stage to spend some time in Ireland visiting all her husband's relatives and exploring the country.
I shall send her the link...I think she will enjoy it..... and it may well give her ideas for planning a route!
Although my son- in -law has family there, he himself has rarely visited, so it will be mostly new to him, too.
Did your son come to visit you this evening?
I hope all is well with everyone at your end?

Good evening, Elle!
I am glad you are enjoying exploring the Wild Atlantic Way!
There is so, so, much to see!
Inishowen is to the North of The Rosses.

This is quite a nice video (to me, anyway).
A young girl exploring the West Coast.
She seems to me almost alone in Ireland!
It is called "A Road Not Taken"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENuhNRe7b1s

I think you'll like it.
She only seemed to meet one man and a donkey!
If your daughter was interested, there are dozens of books/guides to the Wild Atlantic Way on Amazon.
Yes, my son was here.
We watched the Diamond League.
Laura Muir was second in a season's best to Shelby Houlihan.
Castor Semenya was around 6th, I think.
Lynsey Sharp was second last in her race!

Hi, Rusty!
It will take me for ever to explore the Wild Atlantic Way..........as I said before , I keep digressing.......I will google somewhere mentioned..... and go off at a tangent!
I have just watched your video......
Ireland is so beautiful and majestic...and so peaceful........
Yes, the young girl only seemed to meet up with first the man and donkey, and then later a second man seemed to point out the way to her.
I loved it.......thank you for sharing!
I am glad you enjoyed time spent with your son.
I haven't seen the Diamond League from Lausanne yet.
I am assuming / hoping that it will be shown on the BBC at the weekend?

Hello, Elle!
I liked the video, too.
She seemed to enjoy her wanderings!
The filming was done very well, I thought.
Possibly using drones?
This one is much shorter, but "wilder!"

The athletics was very good.
I am sure BBC should be showing it at the weekend.
Maybe on Red Button?

Update, Elle,
You may have to "rewind" the video back to the start.
I am not sure if I captured it properly!

Hi, Rusty!
This video was good , too.....but a very different setting.
Yes, you were right, the second clip started part through...but no problem!
I rewound it to the beginning and then watched it through properly.
I could sit here all night, watching such scenes!
The BBC usually show only the rather rushed Highlights of the Diamond Leagues...but I 've gotten used to that.
It isn't very adequate...but better than no coverage at all.
They did a good job of covering the British Championships at Birmingham, though, last weekend.
Let's hope that the Lausanne DL will be good !
