Good evening, Elle!
I strolled as far as ASDA for a choc ice!
And it was very nice!
Salad sounds sensible!
I had two pears!
Plenty of the seeds are crashing out, though I have not seen much today, but took in the golf and the France game.

Chris, there has not been a "true" prologue in the Tour since Liege in 2012, when Cancellara won.
By "true", I mean that the prologue distance has to be no more than 8 kilometres according to TDF.
Last year's Tour opened with a 14km individual time trial at Dusseldorf won by Geraint Thomas.
2016 was a flat stage from Mont Saint-Michel to Utah Beach.
2015 was a 13.8 ITT at Utrecht won by Rohan Dennis.
2014 was a flat stage from Leeds to Harrogate won by Marcel Kittel.
2013 was a flat stage in Corsica won by Kittel
And Cancellara won the prologue of 6.4 km in 2012 at Liege.

Thanks for that, Rusty.
I've not really watched the prologue since Chris Boardman used to win it. Early time trials aren't very interesting (though late ones are - I saw a documentary earlier this week on Greg LeMonde's first win, in which Bernard Hinault came across as a rather unpleasant person. It tracked his later wins, including the famous 8 seconds over Fignon)

Chris, "early time trials aren't very interesting". Nail on head!
The smaller TV audiences are the main reason prologues are disappearing, they say.
The viewing public prefer to see the peloton going along and maybe a break going up the road, and the sprinters battling it out.
I know I do.
Hinault is very much an acquired taste.
I think your documentary would be "Slaying the Badger"?
I had the book of the same name.
I like Greg Lemond a lot.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I believe that six of the top eight women's seeds are already out!
And they are only playing the third round of the tournament!
Simona Halep, the World number one is still going, as is the seventh seed Karolina Pliskova.
Quite a shock!
Of course, Serena Williams in still in the mix......and Naomi Osaka, and Angie Kerber are strong players.
But unfortunately those last two have to play each other in the next round!
I think my money would be on Simona Halep to win the Championship?
( But I guess one can never discount Serena! )
I haven't seen any Doubles play as yet?
A beautiful evening here in appearance , but still as hot and muggy as ever!

Hello, Elle!
Well I am not tipping anybody to win!
As soon as I latch on to a player they get knocked out.
I'm a jinx!
Still a fine evening here.
I watched the football.
Was a good game.
Are you touring Inishowen this evening?

Hi, Rusty!
I am reading, Rusty!
I discovered an Ian Rankin book, featuring DI John Rebus, that I had not read before, and ordered it on Amazon!
I am about half way through.......
What are you yourself reading at present?
No more viewing for me tonight... either on television (firmly switched off after Roger's match finished) nor wandering down the WAW for me tonight!
I shall save further "exploring" for tomorrow!
I completed the15 x 15 Cryptic puzzle today; quite a good one?
All clues answered and, for once, parsed, too!
It is going to be a hot night.......

Hello, Elle!
Yes, it is still hot!
I am reading "Young Stalin", a biography.
It was a good puzzle today.
Took me several hours, bit by bit, with golf etc intervening.

Good morning, Rusty!
Another sizzling hot day here!
We were out at the crack of dawn to beat the heat!
But it was already 23C when we first left home......
It's been a longer (first) walk than usual, as I doubt it will be feasible heat -wise to take the dog out later, for a second walk.
The Diamond League in Lausanne is showing on BBC 2 at 10am....but I am recording it for now, as I haven't even had breakfast yet!
And there are also various chores to do, before it gets any hotter!
What are you up to , today?
Are you going to the Pine Cone with the girls?
