Hello, Elle.
Twigging "ma" was a "lover of pop" took me quite a while!
I had lemonade in my head. Thought maybe "ma" was a Pepsi guzzler!
It is good, though! Well done, setter!
I did not know that regarding "anagrind".
It is a new word to me, (and my Chambers!)
I seem to remember Richard Rogan saying the Wednesday puzzle is the toughest of the week.
I found it tough today, but I prefer that.
Still great weather here.
Gruffyd is on BGT tonight, and Marc Spellman.

Hi, Rusty!
A nice walk.
It is pleasant out... a little bit of sunshine makes a big difference !
Isn't it funny how one's mind works?
You thought of lemonade......while my mind was focussed on pop music!
No, "anagrind" isn't in MY Chambers , either,.. but I have definitely come across it in crossword terminology.
I am rather surprised that Marc Spelmann and Gruffyd have been selected to appear in the same Semi -final?
As both are surely strong contenders to win, wouldn't it have been more logical - and a safer option - to put them in different shows?
That way each would stand a greater chance of reaching the Final...where surely that is the place to "fight it out"...rather than in a Semi?
( It's a bit like Roger Federer playing Rafa Nadal in a Semi!)
I am looking forward to tonight's show.

Good evening, Elle!
Just watched BGT.
That was the best sem-final so far, for me.
My three favourite acts were Acrobadabra, Marc Spelman, and Gruffyd.
I thought Gruffyd was super, his Nan will be rightly very proud of him, as will Wales!
What did you make of it?

Hi, Rusty!
I liked Acrocadabra ...and Hollie and her friends put on a courageous show, but my favourites were mot definitely Marc Spelmann and Gruffyd Win.
I actually voted for both!
I thought they deserved it!
I hope to goodness the naked Japanese man doesn't get through.... there was no variety in his act from his audition....
Different props...but the same principles.
I found his act very boring!
The other young singer was quite good?
It's time for the results......

Update, Rusty...…
Well, what did you think of the results?
I am delighted that Gruffyd got through, although disappointed that Marc Spelmann did not make it,
I wasn't expecting the outcome, as I hadn't thought that the comedian was a serious contender.
But obviously the general public liked him.
It was a good show!
And Simon, too, thought that this was the best Semi-final so far.

Good morning, Elle!
Bit dull here today, hope the blue skies break through later!
I think I am on my own here, but I did not understand most of what Robert White was saying, never mind find him funny.
Must be an acquired taste!
Acrobadabra were a much better act, I think, but we are all different.
Chuffed for Gruffydd, though, and his Nan!
Wonder who is on tonight?

Good morning, Rusty!
It is dull and dreary here.....very humid.
We have a thunderstorm lined up for early afternoon!
No, I agree with you.... as I said last night, I hadn't even considered the comedian, Robert White, as a serious contender.
I hadn't liked the previous comedian from the other day, either.
I'm not very good with comedians...I rarely find one amusing.....
Although I have always very much enjoyed Jasper Carrot!
He is clever!
Jack and Dad are on tonight.....and DVJ.
The other names mean little to me - the performers cannot have made much of an impression!
Father Ray still remains one of my favourites.

Hello, Elle.
Still dull weather here.
I could not make out what the comic was saying.
I don't think his diction was very good.
And there seemed to be mostly "in" jokes, that the panel understood, but I did not.
No pass marks from me, I'm afraid.
I am looking forward to seeing DVJ and Jack and Dad.

Hi, Rusty!
The atmosphere here is very oppressive.....but no thunderstorm as yet.
The dog is a bit twitchy though...so there is definitely something in the air.
I have been doing some outstanding odd jobs....sorting out clothes ...gathering up a bag for a charity collection that is coming round.
I couldn't settle to "sitting"...so haven't started the crossword as yet.
It's "headachey" weather....
When do your son and daughter-in -law come home?
You will be missing your son's visits!

Hello, Ros!
I remember the first time I ever saw Jasper Carrot on television......everyone was talking about him the next day!
He is very good!
Yes, I liked Dave Allen , too....
There has been a lot of controversy over him, and some of the remarks he was quoted as having made.
But he was clever and funny!
