Good afternoon friends. Sorry for being a bit late today. Hope the week went well for you. Here are today's clues. Hope they will prove entertaining. J

I'm taking a few weeks off for Easter, following this entry

I set clues just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT) to allow others to have a go.

1. Flier longing to return after sentimentality shown by girlfriend (10)

2. Unreliable first lieutenant loses fleet on the way (2,8)

3. Irrelevant pickpocket works best here (6,3,4)

4. They may gasp in awe at her withdrawal towards the windward side (1-7)

5. Three awful cyberterrorist platitudes, each one following the first for emotional fervour (4)

Have a good break, jolan - holidaying or just resting?

I'm just off for lunch - I saw #5 at first reading. I'll have another look later.

Good afternoon jolan, I trust you're well and you have a good holiday but from a purely selfish viewpoint, not too many weeks please. Have them all bar #3, which I'll work on. I have a vague familiarity with #1 but not sure from where. Thanks again and cheers.

Hi Chris (resting); ab (sounds like you've already finished); ginge (only a few weeks) and Jazzy x. Keep at it! See you later. J

Very nice as always, Jolan. We're only four hours behind you for a while and this doesn't work well for me; I'll be otherwise engaged at zero hour. Easter must be quite the blowout if it takes that long to recover from it.

Hi Jolan, only recently returned from golf. I believe I have 1,2 and 3 but not seeing 4 or 5 yet. Looks as though I'll run out of time. Have a good break and thanks for your sterling effort as always.
