Hi again radarman
Absence of clues didn't affect me - I have the crossword! However there are lots of helpful people here who might not have it.

Just finished it! Took me a long time (and some cheating) to get started, but actually not too difficult after that. Thanks to all who posted hints.

Afternoon each if anyone is still monitoring this thread. Today is the first chance I've had to look at any crossword between build a stage set for an amateur production of Fawlty Towers and rehearsing for same. I've found it the very divil. I'm stuck on
15 a 'dark growth hidden by cast ?????h?;
18 a Drink gets wet so we uproot plant ?????W???e?
24a, drink maybe one more round at power base e???? N?/r?o?. I also have problems with some down ones but HINTS please might help with them. Thanks in anticipation. I'd better go and look at my lines we open tonight. Morning Fawlty. Good morning Major.

15 Def "dark" (as in complexion); the growth would be on the skin
18 def "plant"; the drink is made from honey
24 Def "power base"; the drink is spirituous, anagram "one more" around

Thanks so much Chris. I feel so thick. 16 was a solution in a recent Guardian quick crossword that I was helping my wife with and we used to sell 18 in our health food shop. Der!!! They helped me fill in the missing down answers.
