Oh dear R-timers,
Struggling this week.! Help appreciated on the 'Oklahoman singer. (Gordon Mc Rae comes to mind.! ) Does 17d refer to a W.W.2 encounter.?

I hadn't heard of the battle, but it was in 1778, apparently.
