Welcome to Clueless, our informal weekly clue-setting competition.

The idea is to compose a cryptic clue to a given word or phrase.

The winner of the previous week’s competition both sets and judges the entries for the current week.

The judge’s decision is final; reasons may or may not be given at the judge’s discretion. It is customary for the judge to donate a virtual prize to the winner.

To be fair to others, please do not make any comments on entries until after the winner has been declared.

Multiple entries may be submitted and new competitors are particularly welcome!

Feel free to add an explanation if you feel it will help.

Clues to be submitted by 18.00 G.M.T. tomorrow (Wednesday 7th January) with the result being announced shortly after.

This week's word to be clued is:

SERPENTINE (10)

Good luck!

I was going to withhold this one for obvious reasons, but as Chris has jumped in with something similar in the same minute, I'll throw it in after all for what it's worth (but then no more, I promise):
Tortuous way to enter penis (10)
(apologies to anyone who might feel this is going a bit too far)

Tweak to my earlier one:

Lizard Rock is in Hyde Park. (10)

(For aristo's benefit, the Serpentine is the large lake in London's Hyde Park)

chrise: They made a lake in Hyde Park just for me? I'd heard of it, but now I know why it's there.
