Any luck with Light spinning etc?

I have Nereus for "light spin" clue

Can anyone tell me which column the K set belongs to please? I've eliminated the ones where it can't go and yet trying the possibilities that are left leads to dead ends each time. So I'm doing something wrong but if I knew the column that would help a lot. Thanks.

The K set belongs to the eighth column.

There IS a missing letter in the unclued entry. Are you sure that's not what you're referring to?

Yes - but are we not meant to work out which letter to insert? Or am I missing the point (a likely possiblity)?

I've just finished it. Jeb, we are meant to work out what the missing letter is. There are many possibilities (as the preamble says) but noting that the first column is the L set, the second the J set and so on, you will find which word is the one wanted. It's an appropriate one for your last entry too.
