Has anyone out there got to grips with this today? I seem to have found the 4 clues detailed in the preamble but cannot even start others. Eg. 7a. Lost stocks of Chinese buns. 4 letters. I have C as first letter and there may be an A as second letter. 13a reads ten thousand to put right figure on totem. I have ??NI?? Any guidance very welcome.

7A is CANG, with G being the letter missing from wordplay. Once you start to highlight a few excluded letters it becomes obvious what,s going on in the grid.

18a definition is break 4-3 is the word count your letters are right

9d letters right it is a charge when a ship is in port
