Finished, but made a bad start mistakenly thinking that 8d was Nuns on bicycles (doh!) and 7a was kuklux clan (Muhammad Ali was a boxer who admitted being in contact with ). I had forgotten about the dogs. To anyone who does not have this puzzle, this will make no sense at all !! but may help anyone who is still stuck.

Hello Jazzgirl. I finished this very quickly, but some
clues I filled in like a general knowledge quiz - not parsing them at all!
Eg. 10 ac, 15 ac (thanks to the Tour de France!) and 19 d
No reasoning behind my (correct) answers!

Good afternoon jazzgirl, I also had the wrong sort of club which caused me problems with 1D and 2D. Once I got the doggy connection, I managed to finish! It must be the weather - I hate to say it but we need some rain, expected in the early hours of tomorrow here!
