Could anyone help me on 49across

I seem to have all the letters but cannot find any anagram of them, nor can I parse the clue at all.

I may need to start a new grid! Got a bit bogged down. I think 50ac has NSE and R or A but cannot solve. Wrens? Also keep toying with EARLS and shoes at 30ac. 33 is beyond me at present so any help gratefully accepted.

For 50a, it's an obscure word that sounds the same as scenes. Think schools of fish.

For 30a I'm thinking MALES but I can't parse the "les" bit.
