Elle, there is a new 13th Edition of Chambers on the way, but that means a bargain may be had with a copy of the 12th.

Methanethiol is also found in rotten eggs , isn' t it? the smell of rotten eggs is that of hydrogen sulphide, isn't it? Don't know the breakdown, altho I expect you do? My memory of my Biochemistry days is very weak!

Hydrogen sulphide is "rotten eggs", but I don't know the pathway either - my Biochem was 40 years ago.
