and that's a definition of 'isologue' is it, Jazzgirl? It isn't in my Oxford dictionary.

Exactly, jazzy - I don't understand what that might mean, and Google couldn't give me any examples.

I wonder if, for example, methanol CH3OH and the sulphur equivalent (for which I have forgotten the name - oh dear!) CH3SH are isologues?

I've just discovered something rather interesting about it. Apparently it's responsible for the smell of "asparagus pee", and everyone produces it, but there is a genetic difference in whether or not you can actually smell it.
