The only letter I am missing is the unchecked one in 24 down (i.e. 'Lovers of fancy biccies etc), which I assume you have solved ? My guess is it's 'n' but that's all it would be, so a hint to the complete answer would be much appreciated.

24 D. It's not an 'n'. The definition is the first word in the clue and we're in anagram territory ('fancy'). Hope this is of some use - but let me know if it isn't!

You didn't give the clue and I no longer have the paper, so I can't give the exact working.
Canaille - mob.
The Biblical wedding was at Cana = 'ille' fitted the other part of the clue. So we end up with caNaILLe

47a: Mob wedding venue - that one in old Rome.

Defn. is 'mob'; Wedding venue = Cana; ille = 'that one' in Latin (in Latin= in old Rome).
