25D - if answer is SOU - why is it? If not what is it? Need it for 13A - assume it SPOOR but can't see why?
(25D - "Old coin, hence not common" and 13A - "Track skinhead without a 25")
14D "Undo rear end from charm? That's nit-picking" - PETTINESS? But why?

Thank you jazzgirl. Knew sou was an old French coin. Can see that so can be hence but is 'u' - "not common"? as in Uncommon - just the first letter?

U is posh/upper class as opposed to common - hence 'U' and 'Non U'

13a Track skinhead without 25

Skinhead - S
Without 25 - Poor

Thank you Mamya - have used u for 'posh' loads of times so should have got that!! 13A so obvious now you have explained! (and sou has been confirmed.) I do like to know why and how even when I think the answer must be correct.

I agree, it is only by understanding how the clues work that we learn.

A new raft tomorrow hopefully.

Always a team effort on here.
