Well, what a palaver. Finally finished (despite having to work from 3 tiny, tiny screen prints) only to find I can't submit it anyway.

Thought it as pretty easy for a Genius.

Cmk, must have been easy since I managed to finish it in reasonable time, usually struggle a bit. Don't usually submit but might be worth a go as so few people seem to have have been able to access it (assuming the Guardian manages to sort things out soon).

The Guardian has put a statement at the top of its Crossword page saying it is having technical difficulties - well we have been telling them this - and they will post updates.

Subshelp has sent the following guidelines which work:

• Go to the Java Control Panel (On Windows Click Start and then Configure Java)
• Click on the Security tab
• Click on the Edit Site List button
• Click the Add in the Exception Site List window

• Click in the empty field under Location field to enter http://www.theguardian.com
• Click OK to save the link.
• Click Continue on the Security Warning dialog
