Hmm.... finished it but don't understand how to apply the sentence in the special instruction.

I've only got four to do, but the message, apart from the last two words. is not clear. The problem is that cryptic crossword clues add words to mislead you anyway, so one is never clear which word to remove.

simond9x, I wonder if you have 12a correct - I struggled until I changed one letter, then all became clear! Don't rush to complete, the site isn't accepting submissions anyway (or not mine at least).

dizoz, I started with 14a; There are 2 words in the clue with the same initial letter - to my mind, either can safely be removed and leave a reasonably straightforward clue. Hope this might get you started.

Game (noun) is the definition. Think of a word for athletic and put it round a maths unknown and the other 3 letters will become clear.
