I know it's late in the week, but has taken me ages to get the letters for the theme. Have most of the letters for the instructions and think I know all of the solutions, but can anyone help with wordplay for 15ac, 17ac, 2d, 3d and 9d. Thanks.

Josephine - hopefully this will help.
15Ac YR inside AE. Misprint Y in THYME
17Ac ALB - ANY (some) misprint of O in REALO
2Dn A W (wife) RONG (look up in Chambers) Misprint of K in STALK
3Dn Not sure how this one works but misprint of M in MERSE to give DAMOISEL
9Dn OU - A - BAIN (check your French Dictionary!) Misprint of A in SACK

Good luck!

Brilliant. All finished now. I nearly gave up many times. Had to do a spreadsheet to work out the messages. Thanks for the help.

This is a bit pathetic, but I still can't work out how to make the required number of folds.

demeter - think symmetrically and keep in mind the technical requirement implied in the second instruction, and how you might go about it. You might need to experiment a bit.

Yes. Try thinking about the approximate proportions of a (last word of the instructions) and how you might emulate one.

In that case I am struggling to understand how all the folds can be vertical (as stated previously) ?

1. Think of the first instruction.

and

2. Think symmetrically.

That should tell you where to start.

Continue in the simplest way possible until you have completed the first instruction. If that doesn't work, adjust something and try again.
