I feel blessed that my bird count was quite high compared to others. Maybe it is due to my living much further south. It would be interesting to hear from others in the south-east or Surrey area to compare
I did my hour 0930 to 1030 Saturday morning. No rain and a little sunshine but mostly overcast. If the count had been today, it would be a couple of sparrows and a robin. I heard an owl in the night :)
I live out in the sticks surrounded by woodland hedges and fields so i cant really say i have noticed any more or any less than usual. In other words there's a lot of different species from Owl's gulls and Pheasant down to my lovely little Jenny wren. Robins Blackbirds Sparrows and Tits are a staple. The finches seem to come and go as they please (somedays none then other days loads!) Cheers!
Apart from a few lucky people most of us seem to have found we are getting fewer birds visiting despite plenty of food & different feeding stations. It will be interesting to see the final count this year compared with previous years BUT I encountered a problem trying to submit my one pigeon this year! I could do the animal part but it kept sticking on the submit birds.
