Blimey, that was quick leon, many thanks, I presume the ut refers to the original version of the first note.

Glad to be of help, Not so much, observant, rather more obsessed. Won 2 bottles of very good champers from this last year, went down very well at Christmas and New Year.

I've got 26a yielding one of the notes - but the wordplay in the clue is normal. So am I wrong?

I haven't got the paper and can't remember the exact wording, but didn't the preamble say something like ' six, not seven clues...'? The bit about highlighting said 'seven words and a name' I think.

But where was "fa" generated? And if it wasn't why not? Also, it seems to me that the preamble is ambiguous; should the two or three letter words be highlighted, or the whole of the words in which they appear?

I think it can only be the notes because the preamble says highlight 23 cells including the name

I have the same problem as Nelson. I can't understand 26a. It seems to be correctly clued, so how come the "fa" comes from there? Also I can't properly locate "la". Any thoughts?
