19A is the name of a cricketer. 20D is an anagram which includes a short "had".

The final task! Would some kind soul please give me a hint for the 9th 'thematic' clue i.e.

Letter kept by Nob (actor's nickname)

I think it should two words (the remaining 10 are single words).

I don't quite get that.

I can see TOFF= Nob and THE HOFF = actor's nickname.
But why T(HE H)OFF?

Horribly off topic for which I apologise... I wonder if anyone could send a copy of the puzzle to ylumrr@Gmail.com. I feel obliged (as I would never want the paper and hence the puzzle to become unviable) that I purchase the paper every week (exclusively for the puzzle) but was busy / forgetful on Sat. Thanks.

I have managed to complete the grid and spot the "process" but fail to understand how it has been applied. I have solved only 5 of the 11 thematic clues, but this has proved enough to enable to me work out which grid entry to highlight. It seems therefore that I have finished, or am I missing something? If one can complete a puzzle without fully understanding it, there's something not quite right IMO.
