This JE's been particularly challenging for me but after all Les' hard work I feel I must keep trying. It's been fun though.
I Googled a pair of words for one clue last night and ended up viewing a VERY rude picture!

I agree Rossim very challenging. I still have about 12 more to do and I have certainly had a few kick myself moments.

Do you have 41ac?

I'm not absolutely certain of my 41ac, as I thought that my answer was two words (5,5)

ChrisE it's another one I don't have the Phase 2 answer

The missing word, read backwards, means "a small amount"

Emrach: if I may attempt to help out a little --- Ixion's Phase 2 clue to 41a is in fact very simple: a word for info (4 letters) which, read backwards, (1,3), means "a little".
And btw all your spéculations about 20d were correct-- and the Scottish word is given in Cha
