Jazzgirl. Thanks for the message, When I first started this crossword I couldn`t any at all. However next day got started and the Brechin answer helped. Thanks to Quick Solve I have learned two new words for 1D and 14D. I wont say what the latter is but did anyone else know that word apart from any geologists?

Jazzgirl are you still working in the garden. I have stopped meantime. Now that Christmas is nearly upon us I wonder if we will get a message from our former contributor, Caravaggio. Does anyone know if he is ok?

Hello Mondrian
Sorry I couldn't reply earlier, as I've been out all day. I had heard of 1d and 14d, as wildlife photography and geology are among my interests. I remember seeing David Attenborough and Richard Fortey giving a great talk on fossils including 14d and ammonites.
The gardening right now is just a huge amount of leaf-raking which is never-ending it seems. The fall was later this year in this area.
I hope Caravaggio pops in to see us during the festive season. I spotted him on a couple of other sites quite recently and all appears well.
I am impressed that your paintings are being exhibited. Sadly I have no talent for painting, but I do enjoy ink sketching. Bye for now. Jg

f you do encounter Caravaggio on one of those other sites, please tell him I was asking for him and send him Christmas greetings from me.

One last clue to get for me (and this is unusual) The very last one across something about an insect on a sandy place! Cannot remember the exact wording. I have G?B?. Any help appreciated.

hi butterfly
I am sorry to say my scanner was playing up and I could not post RT50 . However, I notice that Greedy Kite received a scan of RT50 and also RT51 which possibly were sent to him by ChrisE. I hope that ChrisE or GK still have a copy on their computer that they can post here via tinyypic.com.
