greedy kite

Maybe I should add, I have a different solution for # 4, plural, which I can't completely parse, but produces a sensible anagram for the whole thing. Nationality of THE EDIBLE also more appropriate. Maybe I misunderstood which anagram you meant: within # 4 or for the whole thing?

Have just realized I had # 2 the wrong way round; but even after correcting that there is no anagram seemingly using "your" solution to Nr 4 (an adjective can't be made plural in Eng. normally)!
Will now try a new variant....My, this is going on a bit!

ab

My misunderstanding I think.
The nationality of the edible in 4 is the obvious one from the clue. In singular it gives a clear 9 letter parse and a clear 8 letter anagram, If plural (10 letters) the last letter in the answer to 4 gives no 8 letter anagram. I may be completely off the beam with one or more of the other three, but the parses look solid.

If you're right, ab, then I think I must have s'thing else wrong, which I can't really imagine! Will be looking in soon after 8 for The Great Solution.
