Thanks cloverjo and apologies for the late acknowledgement. I see it now, but surely it's his name and title rather than his full name, which I had originally been looking for. That would have needed 13 cells, but I thought that perhaps one letter might have served to end the first name and start the second.

Sorry Greedy crossed wires. I've already done it. I've been having a go for about 6 months. Once you start it becomes addictive.

Could anyone help me on the wordplay for 33A (for which I have the name of a composer) and for 4D (for which I have part of the church calendar).

Sorry, Sussex, those 2 are still bothering me, too --- but also the parsing of 15a, 26a (where does the "e" come from?) 27a 31a (despite all tips so far) 33a & 4d.
In all cases I'm pretty sure I've got the right answers, it's just part of the wordplay that eludes me.
Maybe someone cleverer can throw a little light on these gradually (hints should be enough)................

I think the definition for 4d is the last word in the clue so you may need to rethink that one. I'm still stuck on 33a because the fourth unchecked letter of the answer could be s or d and I don't understand how the wordplay works or what the correct letter is (ie first letter of first word) - any suggestions?
