My offerings are:

1. ad rem ( to the point)
(a Dr. + me (Jolan) reversed)

2. allogamy (cross-fertilization)
(join forces - ally around O (duck)+gam

4. adamantine (unbreakable)
(these days - AD + a man + tin (can) + e(first of enter)

5. arid (boring)
("as indirect" minus "insect") subtractive anagram.

2 ALLOGAMY
def "cross-fertilisation, ALLY around O (duck) + GAM (leg - not quite sure about this)

3 CROSSWORDS (!)
cross = "make the other side", words = "text"

4 ADAMANTINE
AD = "these days", A MAN (male) TIN (can) E(nter), def. "It's unbreakable"

5 ARID
subtractive anagram of "as indirect" - "insect", def. "boring"

Hi Jolan

Thanks as ever for the entertainment. Sounds like the appointment was a qualified success, Fingers crossed that the eyesight remains ok.
My suggestions are the following.


1. A GP brings the speaker back to the point (2,3) AD REM
A Dr (GP) + ME (the speaker) in reverse.

2. Join forces and bring in duck leg for cross-fertilization (8) ALLOGAMY
Ally with O (Love) + Gam (leg) inside

3. Make the other side text, especially for our entertainment (10) CROSSWORDS
Cross (make the other side) + Words (text)

4. It’s unbreakable these days, the male can enter first (10) ADAMANTINE
AD (these days) + A man (the male) + Tin (can) + E (first of enter)

5. Boring insect comes out as indirect treatment’s completed (4) ARID
Anagram of as indirect minus insect
