Glad all went well for you, Jolan. as i may have mentioned before, I, too (ha!ha!) had the same operation (laser, I presume) on both eyes (separately of course) 3yrs ago & have never looked back (ha!ha!ha!) since then. It's supposed to be the OP everyone should lookforward to --- tho' it was very unnerving when I reacted to the pain during the first & the surgeon revealed thru his remarks he felt outwitted! I presume you now see far better than before without glasses or lenses?

Just got back in and can report I have 1,4 & 5. Will hopefully be able to work out 2 & 3 and post @5 :)

@Aristophanes - I do hope that a solution can be found to sort out your problems with site access. Perhaps we could ask syzzie to offer some pointers as it would be a great shame if we were to lose your input :)

GK. Mine was a simple surgical removal of a cataract. Methinks your laser treatment was for sight improvement (short-sightedness, or the likes). I still need varifocal lenses for distance and reading.

Gosh Ari. I too hope your problem can be solved. You're a great asset on this site. Can't understand why there's a problem logging on. Perhaps those wild Atlantic waves? Any point in you having a word with Norah or Ash?

1. Ad rem - A + GP (dr) brings the speaker back (me – reversed), def - to the point

2. Allogamy - Join forces (ally) bring in (containing) duck (o) + leg (gam), def- cross-fertilization

3. No ideas I’m afraid :(

4. Adamantine – These days (AD) + the male (aman) + can (tin) + (e)nter first, def – unbreakable (takes me back to good old Gerald Harper and ‘Adam Adamant Lives!’)

Jolan - Thanks once again for your hard work in producing consistently excellent clues. Glad that everything appears to be on the up with regards to your sight - hopefully see you next week (no pun intended) :)
