24 ac clue is: A sin to devour a third of tiramisu - this one?

If operate is correct yhen I have A_A_I_ _.

Thanks Ixion I would never have gotten that , so is it that the third letter of 'tiramisu' becomes 'ar' as in the sound of the letter?

And 'te' for note?

Aha just figured out note, a variant on 'ti' from the sound of music song :p

Yes. "te" (Chambers) for note, also "ti".

Oh I was way off the mark. Actually I was way off the track the whole clue. I had been trying every combination of three letters in tiramisu. Thanks for the help you two.

as in "doh re me fa so la ti doh", very useful for crossword cluers.
