73. the def is "Head", as in headmaster. a character from Dickens.

I have found an answer here that is S.....S From a clue from polly dee I thought it would begin with P.
If it is this s.....s then I am in trouble because I will have 51 Q and 49 P answers.

winnie, sorry, but this headmaster answer looks very good to me. I guess you must have one too many Q answers, mind you there are some answers containing a P and a Q. perhaps you can count these either way.

Have now got it down to just one missing answer ("Q" type!) Can anyone confirm that 19 is an abbreviation or diminutive of a girl's name, or am I barking up the wrong tree?!

No luck I'm afraid! Have spent an hour and more going through the names of Australian fast bowlers (quicks!) but without success. A pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated.
