Hi, Andy. Same as mine, MacMillan, but she doesn't smoke a pipe.

Pipesmoker - I do not remember Elma MacMillan from DHS. As for david Stark I am sure he was in No.13 BB when I was in No.7. Teachers from DHS - James (Scud) Scobbie, Sanny Dalziel, Slaggy McDonald, Percy Quinn, Jessie Harvey,Robinson (Crusoe-Latin),Tober Morrison(technical),Pogo Drummond, Roy & Dan Ferguson (art),Pete Henderson(maths) and Lizzie Boa.

Hi, Andy. Yes, many familiar names, with the excption of Pete Henderson. Dan Ferguson had blotted his copy book by the time I arrived, and had moved on to pastures new. JKS was rector by that time, and things had become even more draconian.

Sorry ... can't add anything to the Old Boys/Girls newsletter! But can add to the notdo list. Am I the only person in the world who can notdo 1d? "Comedian receives jolt following victory". I assume it would be WIN (victory) R?E?E?. Vic Reeves goes in, but can't think any setter would be tame enough to want "vic" for victory. And anyway what's "Reeves" got to do with jolt? Heeeelp!

Vic Reeves is correct.

Thanks, jazzgirl. It was you who came to the rescue on my very first foray into the forum a few weeks ago. Yeah, see it now .... but of all the code words pointing to an anagram, I think this is the first time I've met with "jolt". Good on you.

hi duckb
There are literally hundreds of words which are anagram indicators. Some are really obscure !
