@ tonyw

I too went to see "best exotic Marigold Hotel" and like you - can't recommend it highly enough. I loved the pastel shades of the buildings - rather crumbly (or is that crummy!) with the peeling paint of days gone by.

A fairly posh lady sat next to us and she muttered "Well, good film, but it wouldn't persuade me to go to India".

I had to bite my tongue because I really wanted to say

..."and India will be eternally grateful Madam!"

Have you seen LADIES IN LAVENDER? Judy Dench and Maggie Smith at their Very Best!

I loved both those films. I`m a great fan of Judi dench.(and Maggie Smith)
I feel rather sorry for the Call centre employees. Bright young graduates, destined to make unwelcome calls and probably to receive abuse. Not sorry enough to respond to them, alas. M.

I too have been plagued by "you have a problem with your computer" scammers. Usually I hang up but last week had some fun and did "oh gosh, really? what can I do?" and then pretended to do all the keystrokes the chap wanted me to do until he asked what I was seeing on the screen. I said "oh, it says in great big letters, this is a scam!" He then harangued me for wasting his time! My view was that while I was having fun, someone else wasn't being bothered, like my 90 year old mother who gets quite distressed by this sort of thing.
