Tnx Chrise,

Took me a while to "get" your reply. I kept thinking top as in apex etc and not knocking a head off !!

Next 53, 11A: Showed exasperation with pronounced arrogance. ANS: Sighed.

I get exasperation and sigh but the rest?

Side is an old-fashioned word for arrogance - they used to say things like 'There was no side to Colmm'). So it's just a sounds like (pronounced) clue, sighed, side.

Tnx Malone,

Never knew that !!

Next, 53, 24A: Uncertain batter caught on boundaries of outfield. ANS: Touch and go.

Despite my best review of cricket terms, still unsure. Parse please.

It’s an anagram indicted by ‘batter’. Quite neat actually.

Tnx Jono,

Still not sure about the boundaries. Sorry!

Comm, I think the 'boundaries' indicates the first and last letter of 'outfield' - the O and D go with 'caught on' to be the basis for the anagram.

Colmm, glad that teeny tiny wee bit was useful. Yes, I too thought that was quite a crafty (and well-crafted) clue.
