Good morning, Jon. Seemed a bit tougher than usual today, although I wasn’t helped by entering a couple of wrong answers. The triple homophone gave me two chances to be wrong, and I took one of them.
Maybe I’m just tired. It’s getting late here.

Enjoyed it, found it not too difficult. But cannot get 19d.

I have B ? O ? A ? E but no idea what is the definition.

Any help welcome, thanks.

Yevrah, your A is incorrect. I entered the same incorrect answer to 24a.

Aaaah.

So now I see what the military dummies are. Got it.

Revised 24a and got 19d.

Thanks Mattrom

P.S. My original 24a answer fitted the definition, but I couldn't parse the first 6 letters. They have a connection to 1d. in Saturday's Guardian prize puzzle.

Hi, Mattrom and yevrah. I made the same mistake, but the actual answer parses, and I never did figure out how ours was related to military dummies. At least I’m in good company though.
