Thank you for this hint, but there is only space for 7 letters and you have mentioned at least 9 plus a word meaning an animal so I am still all at sea, I am afraid. Is there a six letter word meaning backwards or have I misunderstood?

Hide Here in Cockney sounds like Idea, which I think is the answer.
