It's difficult not to give too much away but the jumbled solutions are kept separate from each other; there's no intermingling of them.

Just normal clue answers ... but jumbled in six rows (no-contiguous only gives two possibilities) ... Probably in Listener crossword puzzles - most obvious column...

Yes, they are kept separate. The jumbling still leaves real words in the down columns which are unaffected. The one jumbled down column is 6 and 25 down. Persevere- it's worth it!

Sybila, almost all of the jumbled answers are non-words. The rows make sense when you read it as a whole - Chicke Ntikka, for example...

The jumbled column was good for slotting in the Across jumbles. If you have got columns where the answers slot in easily, you can rule those out...
