I have a different answer for 5d which parses but I don't have any crossers

This one annoyed me - 5D was the first one I filled in and I was sure it must have been ORIONS. Not old enough to remember Ford Zodiac's. Not sure where 'belt' comes into play though.

The Zodiac is a belt of 12 constellations (the crossers are O, I and C).

I had already filled in 17D correctly, but I still can’t parse it. I realise it’s an anagram of Paris, with “L”, but why is that producing wind?

Bethel, don't think of it as Wind, weather, think of the other pronunciation, wind, wind up the clocks, wind someone one round your little finger.... That's more of a spiral.
