A shout for Charbydis’ puzzle. Some knotty clues with well concealed stowaways but an unambiguous endgame with several treats included - and a very resonant title!

For various reasons this is the first EV I've been able to look at for a few weeks and I'm sadly out of practice. I've tried googling the unclued answers both singly and as a pair but nothing is jumping out. I think, probably wrongly, that 10 cells in the S-W corner need to be vacated but can't see what needs highlighting. Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

AP, you're right about where the 10 cells are. The highlighting is, slightly disappointingly in one way, in a usual place...

AP try Googling the contents of your ten cells with the name in the silvered cells. That should sort things out for you - and make sense of the words from the extra letters along with the “receptacles”.

Thank you Malone and Jack Aubrey. Your help is really appreciated. For some reason I wasn't able to find the quote when I looked earlier.

It helped a great deal thank you. My middle initials, especially when it comes to EV, are MTGO (Missing the glaringly obvious)

AP, I sometimes use your initials too- often on the tougher puzzles where I expect every single clue to be hard work, and then discover one or two simpler ones. The 'discovery' can be far, far slower than necessary.
