Oh my, I went way overboard with this one, even by my standards!

The weird thing is that, although I've never seen the production, I seemed to know an awful lot about it , but have no idea how or why - I was even aware that Jason Donovan played Joseph in the West End production 🤷‍♀️

Greetings from a fellow “Viking Rower” (a lot of genetic nonsense, btw), Brendan. I also spent a while in a cast and sling and - like you - it was just my pinkie that had been “under the knife”. And it’s still a bit bent by the way….

Well, Malone I can only “ defer” (to quote the Mikado - not something, “quote the Mikado” I mean, not “defer” - I do often. If you are on that wave length it’s a good deal longer than mine!

Hi Jack,

Same here, the tip of my finger is visible and it's definitely not straight. That said, it's still a million times better than it was, which was completely folded over at each joint.

I'd never heard that Viking Rower reference but Google tells me there's lots of Viking references: Vikings hand and Vikings disease to name but two.

There's also a list of celebrities with the condition which, naturally, given my recent Gemelo win, I expected to be on. You can imagine my disappointment to see that their list has yet to be updated to include me.

So, for the time being at least, I'll have to content myself with the fact that my ancestors were probably famous Vikings 😄

Hi Bren

Given the generally accepted Western European genetic isopoint, we are all “Vikings” - and all descended from Charlemagne, and all senior Nazis had Jewish ancestors, etc. But that has nothing to do with our pinkies.

More interesting was the case of my old pal (sadly no longer with us) Geoff Palmer who came to the UK from Jamaica. He had his DNA done and, as you would expect it was predominantly traced back to various parts of West Africa. But he, too, had a chunk of “Viking” - a very clear indication that the Scottish masters of Caribbean plantations behaved just as badly as you might have expected.

Brendan at 20.23, it was great to hear you'd gone overboard. Like you, I was a little shame-faced about my knowledge of the production. Some form of osmosis must have taken place, it's definitely not my sort of thing. PS I hope your pinkie is soon back in action (a wee touch of Frankie Howerd there?...)

Jack at 20.44. H'mm, maybe Sunday was just my lucky day, maybe my brain was working particularly well that day? As a regular Listener solver, you're normally way ahead of me when it comes to the difficulty stakes. Most Listeners are beyond me or don't interest me and are very happily ignored.
