Now checking my crossers again geeker because the flood survivor I had is not spelt like I thought.

This is a prize puzzle where the additional difficulty comes from the obscurity of many of answers. Many of the words were unknown to me and had to be obtained at via the (coherent) wordplay, the 22 clues being an example.

I finished today's puzzle and the new app told me I'd successfully completed it. I checked and it only does this when correctly filled. Is it still a prize crossword?

Apologies for being marginally off topic on my first post. I've visited a few times. Today, I liked being sure about 1A and 12A without really knowing the words.

Welcome. The app still says 0 solutions correct on mine. Because it's a prize. I use Android.

Not too hard, but some tangential defintions - 8a and 6d for example.
The unfamiliar words were fairly clued.
FOI 9a. LOI 24a. No standouts, but 6a made me smile.

I was stuck in the bottom right corner, then eventually realised my answer to 22d was wrong. I had it as ORION which fitted perfectly with the whole clue, and so I was convinced it was right...
