Yes, Earmaniac. The single letters are verified when you see the thematic epithet.

I have the thematic epithet, so I know what line to draw, but am completely baffled by the need to / where and how to draw 3 straight lines and 4 smooth curves (I have the 9 co-ordinates) to "frame" the titular diagram. Any gentle hints would be much appreciated !!

The 'titular diagram' is best considered as a logo or badge. Don't forget the reflections of the 9 co-ordinates.

Remember that the coordinates are symmetric

You’re simply drawing the famous sign

Many many thanks for your help, both !! It had'nt helped matters much that I'd had a wrong extra word: "getting" in 33 Down, instead of, as I know realise, "dead" in 25 Down, which I had somehow completely overlooked. Doh !! Can now proceed with confidence !

Still trundling away with this one. I have a full grid apart from 15a (t seems to be the only option, but can't see any relevance to the clue?)

I have 9 words that give me lots of cells in cols 3,4 and 7 (plus reflections) - is that right?

I only have 13 corrections but I can't fully parse 19a, 33d and of course 15a - is there one correction among these three?

I have two k's in my corrections which is slightly unusual - are they right?

Thanks

Smelly, those columns are slightly different from mine; I also have points in 5 and 8.

I couldn't fully parse 15a or 19a. For 33d I have a three letter word for 'night before' around a reversed two letter word for 'painful cry' ('one' referring to the earlier use of 'cry').

Your two Ks are correct.

15a Correction is in the first word, which is also the definition. Wordplay is an anagram (flapping) of it + a + some letters from salt.

19a Definition is the last word. Wordplay is synonym for 'juice' around archaic word for 'look'.
