Hurrah, my app has finally updated.

I followed Quisling's instruction for "anorak" and did get 'cagoul' and 'wind', so no problems there.

However, I'm not entirely sure what the point of, or how to use the "and, or, not, second term" option.

Plus, if I put in "object" which is the definition of 19d in today's Guardian Prize, I reach the 500 limit - none of which contain the answer But, Also, if I put in the answer instead of "object", I do get words like 'demur' 'disagree' etc., but still not "object".

Am I doing something wrong?

Let’s say you want to find a 4 letter word for “cabbage” which also means “money”. You have ??L?

You won’t find anything that fits under the definition of cabbage or in the thesaurus.

So using ‘full text search’ you search on cabbage AND money and you will see KALE which under its own entry has money as definition 4.

I have version 6.3 on Android, but it doesn't seem to work. If I search for greenland +fur, it tells me that it has found three matches, but not what they are. I can't find any way to look at the matches.

Update: it seems to work only when my tablet is in portrait mode, not in landscape.

I've just tried that combination on my Android phone and got 2 matches, anorak and musk.

Brendan - to answer your question in 22, I don't think you're doing anything wrong.

It simply is a text search of the definitions - if you look at the definitions of object and dissent you will see they do not contain dissent or object respectively. It definitely does not replace the use of a thesaurus

In practice, I think it will most useful in thematic crosswords rather than dailies. For example, in a recent crossword I came across the rather odd wording of "felt tents" at the start of the clue that looked like it might be the definition of an unusual word.

Funnily enough there was only one instance of the phrase "felt tent" in the dictionary

I used it today to find a kind of limestone (which I had a hunch began with O) which is definitely not given under the definition for limestone nor in the thesaurus.

Regarding your example, I put in "felt" as the main definition and "tent" as the secondary option and got 14 matches, one of which is 'kibitka', which I'm guessing is the word you were referring to.
