Help with the theme may also be sought and given here. The help given should be fairly gentle in nature. Aim for a nudge, a pointer in the right direction - and certainly not anything that would spoil the puzzle for others.

Upsetter - I agree about the 'twist' which held me up for a while - nice idea, Aedites.
However, I thought the grid-fill was (once again) rather easy, with some quite simple clues.

Very quick gridfill, can't see any of the endgame. I fear this could be one of those 'grid stare takes longer than grid fill' situations.

The endgame is unexpected, but fair. If you can't see the curve, look for the name.

as with others, I found the grid-fill straightforward, and Mrs Dylan got the phrase. I was surprised to see name emerging from a very different context.
I don't understand 39ac at all, apart from the definition.

I won't see this puzzle until tomorrow, but I am wondering whether there's an awful lot being given away already?

Malone - I don't think so - if you read the preamble to the puzzle it refers to 'curve', 'phrase' and 'name'. Comments so far just mention that the endgame has a twist
