Can't quite get there. I think that the three unclued pairs are 16A/34D, 22A/24A and 5D/26A. I have answers for 6A/34D and 22A/24A which work, but I can't make anything work for 5D/26A (I initially had two words which I thought worked, but on closer inspection I realised that they didn't).
I can't parse 2D. There are two possibilities for the unchecked letter, but if (as I suspect) this is the single clued entry which provides a further thematic example, this eliminates one of the two possibilities.

I'm only half way through but with 2 I believe there is a music app named Shazam...

Thanks for that. I have two problems with this: First, it is not exactly the sort of thing that one can reasonably expect a solver to know. Second (and more seriously), the clue should in this case surely be "Thailand adopted by uplifting music app - crackers!". In any case, 2D can no longer be "the single clued entry that could provide a further thematic example."

And to be Pedantic Peter myself, Shazam isn’t a “music” app as such like Spotify etc, it’s an app through which you can identify songs or pieces of music.

it is an app that is concerned with music.

I was very impressed with it when I first tried it but it seems to have gone downhill lately.

I have an answer for the 5d 26a pair but 26a is an abbreviation and they usually indicate when they are used.

@Upsetter: I am in the same position and I am unable to find "the single clued entry that could provide a further thematic example."

Perhaps 16d fits with 31d, 11a and 10d?

For what it's worth I have 31 down, 11 across and10 down forming quite a long but well known phrase which would fit with the title. If that's right I still need to get my head round the other thematic elements.

AP you are correct but Helveticus and Upsetter are also right about the problems in this puzzle, as far as I can see.

All finished, quite good I thought - though I agree about the abbreviation in 26a. A bit of trial and error to find the clued entry for shading but it is there to be found.
