Thank you Jono. I found this unusually tortuous. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I usually do. I’d never heard of 9a (but that’s not Everyman’s fault) and completed but cannot fully parse several including: 3d, 10 a, 26a ( last two letters), 12 a and I had 13d incorrect for a while.
COD: 2d, 24a or 17a.
Looking forward to seeing what others think.

Nicola 3d parses 3 (in favour), 6 (proposal), 1, 1
10a Starmer's position (currently!), most of 3-letter word for ailing, reversed
26 Similarly, last two letters are most of a 3-letter word for (a) brew.

Agree with you on the observer-ation ( no pun intended) about IT capability. It really is awful. The access is terrible, the subscription rules are unclear, the user experience is crap.

And this week, how do we submit for a chance of a hard earned £15.

I too resorted to pen and (home printed) paper.

Thank goodness for a reasonable puzzle. I note the lack of rhyming pair but a pair of related first words in 11a and 20a. Is there a term for that?

And unfortunately for sealionsteve 26a will not help his thinking if I've got that answer correct. My CoD.

Actually. Would anybody out there be kind enough to let me know the postal address to submit a completed puzzle.

I may actually moisten the back of a postage stamp, seal in my solution and make it to the postbox.

I really should get out more, but I'm waiting for the buffering to stop.

Thanks

Hi all. Enjoying this but stuck on 1A, 1D, 4D, 21D & 26A (despite hint).
24A raised a smile. Thanks, Everyman.
Further hints welcome.

Inevitably - PDMs after posting. 1A is very good. Got 1D now & have an answer for 4D (so long) but can’t parse it.

@BarryC: Re 26a, three letters "years end", single letter "an", four letter "unstimulating", two letter "brew - mostly".

21d, two letter word from the clue, single letter insertion, single letter abbreviation, all reversed as indicated by first two words of clue.
